April 4, 2017 Youth get a chance to go to the Capital in Austin to stand up for our Catholic Values.  More will be coming weekly concerning this event.  Our diocese generally takes several buses and we hope that one bus will be filled with youth who are excited about their faith.  Texas Conference of Catholic Bishops will have a mock hearing for students on advocacy day and I will need to turn in numbers early so they will know how many to expect.  Next meeting for this trip is February 14 at 11:00 am at the diocese.
The diocese will send 200 delegates, when we find out which parishes have youth who want to attend, we will see how many can go from each parish.  The deadline to register in March 1

Human Bingo Using #LBKEnthroned17
The object is to take as many pictures of with people from different parishes as you fill out the human bingo square. In order to get the points, you must use the # “LBKEnthroned17”. We will have several CIA members monitoring this # to see who can meet the most people from different parishes! The winner will receive a $50 gift card, Saturday night after dinner.
  1. The people you take a picture with must not be from your parish.
  2. You must take a picture and put where the other person is from! (Please note we will check with your youth minister before giving you the gift card to verify that your new friends, are your new friend.)
  3. You must use the #LBKEnthroned17. This is the only #we will be following, so make sure to use it!
  4. Pictures must be appropriate. Remember, this is a church event; any inappropriate pictures will not count.
  5. Be creative with your pictures!  There is a tie, the tiebreaker will be the most creative pictures!
Time to be Responsible for the future of the Church !
This is a very effective nation-wide ministry whose goal is to connect Catholic College Students to Catholic Campus ministries. We are asking Youth Ministers or Parish Catechetical Leaders (PCLs) to have available a list of all Catholic graduates of 2017 and the colleges they plan to attend.  This service will connect them with the Catholic Youth program available of that campus.
PCLs, Please be expecting a call from “Neumann Connection”, they will instruct you as to what to do with that list.

Great news on a Future Event! The Lubbock and Amarillo youth offices received a grant to sponsor a leadership training weekend for our youth, 10th – 12th grades. We are planning on using the Youth Leader Program given by the Center for Ministry Development. We are looking at having the event in Plainview, as it is mid-way between Lubbock and Amarillo, in early June. The grant will cover the program with a special speaker, but not room and board. Keep your eyes and ears open.
