Deacon Seth is from a small central Texas town called Westphalia and has two brothers and two sisters. Seth first felt the call to the priesthood as a small child of no more than 5 years old.
When he went to mass, Seth would watch the priest and think about how he wanted to be a priest when he grew up. Seth said that his ideal of the priesthood is, “to serve God to my fullest extent by serving His people and His Church.”
Seth describes his family as very close and they can turn to each other for guidance and support. While in college, Seth’s grandfather retired and offered his business to him which was located in Lubbock.
Seth and a friend bought the business and it was during this time at the desire to discern a vocation to the priesthood resurfaced. Seth began discernment with the vocation director and later applied for the diocese.

Deacon Seth will be ordained to the Presbyterate on Saturday, May 15. The ordination Mass will be live-streamed, at 10 a.m., via the Christ the King Cathedral Facebook page and the Diocese of Lubbock Facebook page.
